Artist Statement:
"FLIGHT"
Life is a continuous cycle of transitory memories, once
encountered, never exactly repeated. From an early age I
have been fascinated by the wonder of capturing unique
moments through the crystal clear lens of my camera. My
training was out in the world, listening to what it had to say
and recording its unusual glimpses of life's poignant
statements. I enjoy moving between the real and the
abstract. My goal is to invoke a desire to travel richly
within the story of each image. As a close friend recently
said of the image below,
(Abstract Lake Erie l) "This piece
makes me want to stare at it for a long time. I see so much in
it."

Natural lighting inspires my passion to shoot. Its constant
changing moods form highlights and shadows that draw
their own image to be captured and shared. The sun is my
teacher. I have faith in nature's light. I like to see what it is
going to do second by second. Whether it is muted and
overcast or harsh and sunny, it gives me lessons to  work
with and stories to tell. The ladybug above nestled gently on
my tripod and offered her beauty for a fleeting moment.

Each original photographic composition I design adds a
page to my artistic sketchbook. My first love is to paint and
draw. My spirit soars as a tale unfolds from the capturing of
a moment, to the beginning of a blank canvas, then to the
completion of a masterpiece.

To me, our little friend above is screaming "I am a painting,
create me!" The artist in me has a palette already searching
just the right hues for her wings, so she can soar.
